Features and use cases

Composer running a live multi-brand broadcast

Composer's roots are in the iGaming live-dealer space, where one production team feeds many simultaneously-branded live streams from one studio floor — but the same architecture suits any live or 24/7 production that needs deterministic real-time compositing with a scriptable control plane.

Compositing and effects. All compositing runs on the GPU with effects previewed live as you author. The bundled keyers include an HSV Keyer and an IBK 3D Keyer with spill suppression. The 50+ image-enhancement operators cover colour curves, LUT grading, sharpening and many other corrective and stylistic moves; see the Operators manual for the full catalogue.

Audio. Composer has a full audio mixer with EQ, compression, gating and limiting in addition to the standard channel-strip controls. Inputs can carry up to 16 channels of audio; mixes can be routed to ASIO devices for monitoring or to network targets for distribution.

AI operators. Optional AI building blocks include real-time noise cancellation, Object Detection, Speech To Text, Image Classification, and a generative Crystal Speech audio operator. AI operators run on the same GPU as the rest of the composition pipeline.

Multi-output and multi-brand. A single project can host many scenes feeding many targets. Scenes can use other scenes as inputs (nested scenes), so a base scene with the live action can drive any number of branded variants — each variant with its own logo, lower-thirds, audio mix, and target.

Integration surface. Composer exposes its full feature set through:

  • Connectors — project-defined HTTP triggers that bundle a saved sequence of API commands behind a named endpoint, so external systems can drive the show by name rather than wiring up individual API calls.
  • The HTTP API — for project control, statistics, media management, and streaming endpoints.
  • The Runtime API — for the runtime's lifecycle (start, stop, reload, project management).
  • The WebSocket event stream — for real-time event notifications.
  • The Script Engine — a JavaScript runtime embedded in every project, for in-project automation, event handlers, and custom logic.
  • A web-based Live Editor with a drag-and-drop interface, suitable for non-technical operators driving a running show.

For a deeper walkthrough of how these surfaces fit together — when to reach for which, common patterns, and Stream Deck remote control — see the Integration & Runtime manual. For headless playback (install, command-line arguments, container deployment), see the Composer Runtime manual.

CDN and ingest. Composer is compatible with the Vindral Live CDN and standard cloud streaming endpoints (e.g. AWS). RTMP(S) ingest supports streams up to 50 Mbit/s; SRT, NDI, and Decklink ingest are also supported.
