Keyboard shortcuts

The shortcuts below cover the most common operations in Composer Desktop. Some operators (notably HSV Keyer) use the function keys F1–F12 for additional bindings — see the per-operator documentation for those.

Inputs

Shortcut	Description
`Ctrl + Up / Down`	Rearrange the order of the inputs. In Folders mode this also moves the selected folder among folders, or an input within its folder.

Scene preview area (mouse within the preview area)

Shortcut	Description
`Ctrl + F`	Fit content to the scene preview window (zooms the view; does not change any layer).
`Ctrl + Shift + F`	Scale the selected layer to fit the scene, preserving its aspect ratio, and re-center it.
`Ctrl + +`	Zoom in one step.
`Ctrl + -`	Zoom out one step.
`F11`	Toggle full-screen mode (works globally across Composer). Press `Esc` to exit full-screen mode.
`Ctrl + Space`	Move / pan the preview area.
`Shift + drag corner handle`	Lock the aspect ratio while resizing the selected layer.

Scene layers (clicking the scene layer name)

Shortcut	Description
`Ctrl + Left Click`	Show the layer source.
`Alt + Left Click`	Show the layer operators.
`Ctrl + Up / Down`	Rearrange the order of the layers.
`Arrow keys`	Change the X and Y position.

Property editors (using the Up / Down arrow keys)

Shortcut	Description
`Ctrl + Up / Down`	Step ±10 in all numeric input fields.
`Shift + Up / Down`	Step ±0.1 in Float / Double input fields.

Layout

Shortcut	Description
`Ctrl + M`	Toggles the visibility of the Audio mixer panel.

Misc

Shortcut	Description
`Alt + P`	Saves a snapshot image of the active scene to the `Snapshots` folder in the application folder.
`Ctrl + P`	Toggle between Play & Pause for all media inputs.

Undo

Shortcut	Description
`Ctrl + Z`	Undo only works on scene-layer properties and the input name.

Log window

Shortcut	Description
`Esc`	Close the Log window.
