Sharpen

Sharpen operator properties for Script Engine. Boosts edge detail and apparent crispness in the picture. Useful for restoring snap to soft camera sources, compensating for the softening that compression and scaling introduce, lifting fine detail in interview close-ups, sharpening titles or graphics that look slightly fuzzy, and adding bite to drone or sports footage for broadcast. Use sparingly — too much sharpening produces halos around edges and amplifies noise.

Property Type Access Description
Amount int get/set Strength of the sharpening, in percent. [min=0, max=100, default=0]. 0 leaves the image untouched. Low values (5-20) add subtle clarity that works well for faces and skin. Mid values (20-50) suit general broadcast use and slightly soft sources. High values (50+) produce an aggressive, edgy look and will start to ring around contours and accentuate grain or compression noise.
